Since there is no official layout for the mountain I've put together a rough idea of what would be on which levels. Keeping in mind that the most important rooms/halls would be the best guarded, and therefore, furthest inward. I tried to match what was shown in the movies, but there wasn't a lot to go by.

With so little being known about Dwarvin culture that leaves the door open for a lot of extrapolation. The Dwarrow Scholar has done a great job of laying the foundations in this article: https://dwarrowscholar.wordpress.com/2013/04/11/whos-the-bride-dwarven-marriage/ but I don't think that they got it quite right.

So, to help keep the visuals straight in my mind, I need to know the difference in height between Kíli and Tauriel. I read somewhere that she is about 5'8" based on her height difference with Legolas as we know his height but not hers. Since we know Kíli is 4'8", that would make a 12" difference, which seems to match about what I've put together in ( Read more... )
